First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit

I need to talk shop with everyone for a minute but especially to all my fellow Realtors. The first time buyer tax credit is scheduled to expire on 11/30/09. This credit has been a huge help to our industry and we need to get it extended. C.A.R. conducted a survey and found that 40% of first-time California home buyers would not have purchased a home if the federal credit was not offered and 70% said the federal tax credit was "very important" or "most important" in their decision to buy a home.

We all need to let our Congressional Representatives know that we want them to vote to extend the First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit. C.A.R. has made it easy for us to contact our representatives. Dial 800-961-3302 and enter your PIN number (this is your NRDS number). You will then be transfered directly to your Congressional Representative.

We all need to speak up before this important benefit goes away. We can't afford to loose the momentum that has begun in the housing market! If you are a Realtor in another state or you are a member of the general public you can also help by calling your representative directly. A simple Google search should give you their name and number. Act now before it's too late!
